There is one street and city where a tremendous X-Games like this could be held. San Francisco 1) The hilliest street in the country 2) many one-way streets which could be blocked off 3) For a city that size there is a low pedestrian-to-vehicle ratio 4) The Castro Village area has a perfect layout for such a race.

There may be other areas but that particular area has a lot of challenges without being life-threatening.

Try it out

I'm looking for a site that can tell me if these gentlemen have made a 'brass lion' for sale. I'd very much like to know, as its my partners 40th birthday soon, and he would be beside himself with joy to be able to use a creature like this.

Do you have any idea whether they have made any for sale?

many thanks

hill dogs.

...but it needs a little platform for them to hop on when they get to the top, so they can ride down.

I've had the Dog Powered Scooter rig with my Path 8 since last fall. My two year old Golden Retriever absolutely loves it and can get up to 17.5 mph when chasing squirrels but cruises at about 8 or so. Unless the temperature is 50 or less with low humidity you have to be very careful not to overheat her, and in summer I only take her out in very early morning. We stop for rests at any distance over a mile and take along cool water as well. On really cold days she can go quite a way.

Another thing to watch out for is that, especially downhill, it is quite possible for the trike to move faster than she can run.

The big advantage of the rig is that she can go for a run at what is a natural speed for her. (I can't run a 3.5 minute mile.)

On the dog powered scooter site you can see our photo under the caption "Golden Trike."

Good point Bob. There is a growing trend to include pets with triking. Common sense is needed.

Just remember that dogs can get overheated really easy in the summer, and dogs with a few breed exceptions are not designed to run for miles. They run a short distance, rest, and then run again. Once a dog gets overheated, it is a life threatening situation and can prove fatal.

Is this Rover-compatible? I only ask because that tunnel looks like it has a really low clearance... It is a very nice looking tunnel, though.
