  • Dog "Pulling" Bracket recommendations
I'm wanting to purchase a Gran Tourismo model. Just as important to me will be additionally purchasing a dog pulling bracket so that I can take my service dog safely with me on rides/give him the much needed exercise he needs to remain healthy as I'm only capable of walking at a snail's pace.

The only dog bracket I've found is the "dog powered scooter" attachment (https://www.k9kennelstore.com/K9-Scooters.html) but a company rep there would not say it would work to purchase one for use w/a Terratrike. Any recommendations for outside companies that do sell these suitable for use with a TT GT?

    Greetings:
What you did sounds wonderful. Could you give a blow by blow run down of how you did it all. Especially what front chain ring triple you used. not just the gear numbers but like altus or sora. I can't seem to find any information on what front chain ring group will fit the existing bottom bracket. If it is easier for you my phone is 858 472-8181 west coast. Thanks

@IRONMAN1518, I'm not sure this is how to private message someone, but if you can either call me or text me your contact info I am happy to call you back. We don't always have WiFi, so I end up looking at email about once a week. I left my cell phone number in my post (cryptically, but in a way so as to not get it caught up and captured by snooping "bots" , so you can get that there. If you only have email, you can try me at birder73 at gmail dot com.

Hello. The basic "carrier" is a Curt aluminum cargo carrier, model# 18100; got it @ Home Depot for $97.00. https://www.homedepot.com/p/CURT-500-lbs-Capacity-Bolt-Together-Aluminum-Cargo-Carrier-with-2-in-Folding-Shank-18100/205631477.
I ordered the aluminum angle from http://www.onlinemetals.com/ I think I bought three seven foot lengths. {Sorry I can't remember}. I shall measure all the pieces I cut and send the dimensions to you. Can also send pics in detail if you wish. It's real simple to build seriously, as long as you can use a drill to drill the bolt holes. Mine is not "centered with the rack, so the trike is further behind the back of my car {Subaru Crosstrek}, so I can open the hatch back while the trike is in the rack. The rear of the trike doesn't stick out, the front does maybe about 8 inches out fro the side of the car. But it is a small narrow car. If you mounted it on a truck or bigger car I don't think it would stick outside the sides of the vehicle.njhg9y7ccok6.jpg

Here a couple other videos I hope can explain it better for you. let me know about anything I can help you with. The first video shows very well how the components work and are connected.

This one shows how to remove the BB (bottom bracket bearings), This is the same type that comes on a Rover.

IF you think you do have a BB problem just take the chain off the chainring, so the crank can spin freely and spin it to see if it grinds or doesn't spin freely. IF there is a problem you replace the whole BB bearings (Yours is a complete sealed unit.) You CAN take one apart with lots of difficulty, here is a video showing how to do that: It is a huge pain most people replace it they can go for like $25- $30 or so.

FWIW I'd be very surprised if your BB was worn, gritty.
