  • Strava has this, but only for premium members. They call it Beacon. Up to three of contacts can track you in real time during your activity. They get a text message with a link to a real-time map. They do NOT need to be Strava members. Not sure if t…
  • The Tour can't take a 26. The Tour II can, but requires the dropout extension. - PaulNM
  • Tape measure is one of those solutions that'll work fine, but you have to be really precise and deliberate in using it. Some of us like that kind of stuff. Others are more likely to prefer more straightforward solutions like rods and other tools. …
  • TT's 20 inch tires are 406. The 26 inch wheels are 559. The bead seat diameter is the diameter of where the bead of the tire sits on the wheel, and will therefore be slightly less than the diameter of the rim itself. It can be manually calculated…
  • Forum is separate from the rest of the site. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I really don't think the forums were hacked or compromised. Most of what we're seeing now looks more like settings changes by either Chonk and/or Vanilla support. (I'm …
  • I suspect that various "security" options where changed and possibly some modules enabled/disabled. (Everything that's showing now is a configurable option.) I doubt the site itself was attacked, it looked more like an automated create-account-th…
  • There are all kinds of oddities going on. That weird Quote thing under every post, new posts showing up as already read, disappearing users, flag link shows up on mobile site, inability to write coherent posts without resorting to manual html. I do …
  • Testing paragraph and separate sig. - PaulNM
  • Ok, what's going on with the site? Whitespace/paragraph breaks aren't being preserved, along with other oddities. Looks like the html/wysiwyg editor is disabled or broken. …
  • Nope, the pixelated image is a much brighter yellow. It also clearly has some bends in it. I don't think it's an actual photo of a new model, it looks like they pixelated the Tour II photo as a placeholder. The photo looks identical to the banne…
  • Minecraft: The Trike. - PaulNM
  • Oh great, now every time I see a TARDIS I'm going to start thinking about a Porta-Potty. Thanks JamesR. Gives a whole new mental image regarding the TARDIS sounds, too. - PaulNM
  • Ok, interesting. When I first took a serious look at da brim a week or two ago, I didn't think those bill lengths were all that impressive. I have a thin baseball cap that fits under my helmet that's about the same length. It's a different story no…
  • Say, when they say the front brim is 3.5 inches, are they measuring from the helmet or the forehead? Also, how well does it adjust for different helmet sizes and shapes? It looks like there's a rim of light still getting through a gap between the h…
  • Just to offer a different experience, I haven't really had any issues with mine. It only slips if I don't tighten it enough. - PaulNM
  • I know a few people who were finally able to quit using them. The big thing is that the juices come in a variety of nicotine levels. You can slowly replace occasional smoke breaks with a vape unit, until you're only vaping. Then start dropping the n…

  • If you're using Chrome, there's a "Request desktop site" checkbox in it's menu. - PaulNM
  • Nah, those are legitimate. This is a prime time for used sales and the site's theme makes a bunch info hard to see.  Many of them aren't aware how old those posts are. Plus, we humans can be silly at times. I've seen folks respond to ancient posts o…
  • It's automated. Scan the internet for known combinations that you can deal with, then spam away. If you're lucky whoever you hit isn't paying attention or keeping thing maintained, and your spam posts get picked up by search engines. Vanilla is a wi…
  • Hmmm, given the number of accounts involved, looks like this is being automated. Wonder if it's an issue with reCAPTCHA or Vanilla Forums? TT is using reCAPTCHA V1, maybe V2 would work better? - PaulNM
  • Just flag them as spam, and they'll get removed when someone gets in the office tomorrow. (They're Russian, BTW.) Let's not overstate what's happening. People are creating accounts and posting spam, this isn't the site getting "hacked". Agree it's…
  • If you plan to put the noodles under the seat materials, it's possible but you'll have to deal with two issues. One, the seat material has caps that go over the ends of the tubes to hold it on. You'll need to make the noodles shorter than the tubing…

  • Or at least bleed off some pressure from the bottle so it's not as loud. - PaulNM
  • What kind of sunglasses do you have? Can they fit over eyeglasses? - PaulNM

  • That's how bad it is. Even now knowing which subforum it's under, you still miss where it's shown. Look under RColdguy's name at the top of the first post. In *REALLY* light grey you'll see the timestamp, subforum name, and flag links. The mobile v…
  • One of the annoying aspects of this forum's design is that it's hard to see the subforum name. (Mobile version is a little better in this regard.) Otherwise we would have known this was about tandems even before we read the post. (Though to be fair…
  • You're missing the point. The trike stays upright, only the stoker's handlebars rotate down. - PaulNM
  • For stokers, the handlebars on the tandem models are more like the tour II and older TT models. They're "U" shaped and attached at the bottom. It's possible to loosen it and rotate the bars down so they act like a kickstand. - PaulNM
  • These particular ones are ~425-$35 and include chain guards, which is what we're talking about.  https://www.amazon.com/Shimano-Altus-FC-M311-Bicycle-Crankset/dp/B002I7K5LC/ref=sr_1_6?s=outdoor-recreation&ie=UTF8&qid=1493768356&sr=1-6&am…
