  • Hello Minnesota riders. My wife and I plan to travel from Michigan to Rochester, MN on April 19th to ride on trails in southern Minnesota. We will be there for 9 days of riding. Hopefully, the weather will co-operate. :-) Some of the trails w…
  • I lift both trikes into the bed of our pickup truck. When transporting our trikes we drive a Ford F-350 crew cab dually. With the recent addition of the BionX D500 eAssist, each trike weighs 55 to 60 lbs. Wife's trike faces forward, and mine fac…
  • 73 this coming July.
  • I mentioned earlier my preference for an enclosed pickup topper as a means to transport both of our trikes, but I also understand that everyone's preferences and/or circumstances are different. As for an external carrier, it would appear that the A…
  • This it the reason I prefer a topper. My neighbor has a cap on his pickup and he constantly complains about not being to transport the items that I can with my topper. Both of our trikes fit very nicely and securely inside the bed of the truck cov…
  • @PapaSkisNTrikes how did you handle the wheel size issue with the Hammers? From what I see online, they are designed for 26" wheels? I'm not totally sure that I understand your question. First, our Sportsters have 26" rear wheels, but, in realit…
  • My wife and I each have a very similar set up to that of magicmikecat, with a few differences. We were down to a choice between the Kurt Kinetic smart trainer vs. the Cyclops Hammer smart trainer. The Kurt Kinetic is an excellent choice , but ultim…
  • To assist (pardon the pun) my wife on hills, we ordered, through our Local Bike Shop, the BIonx D 500. They just called me and it is all installed and ready for pick up. We will go over to pick it up Friday morning. After reading all of these c…
  • This reminds me of an expression my Dad used when I was young and was blocking his view, “You make a better door than you do a window.” Any lights attached to the heels of our shoes will not be visible to anyone following us. When following my w…
  • In spite of the hills on the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail it is well worth the effort. It is one of Michigan's beautiful trail gems.
  • E-assist for my wife's trike. She struggles on some hills. Iron Ore Heritage and Sleeping Bear Heritage trails for example. :-)
  • Of the TART Trails, we have only ridden The Leelenau Trial. It is a delight.
  • Strap skis to the front tires, chains on the rear and start peddling.
  • I'm not sure, but, will share what I recall of the meeting. I forget where this Zoomer rider was from, but, I do not recall that it was in the immediate Traverse City area. He was riding with a friend. I do not recall the brand of Trike the frien…
  • Interesting. I didn't realize the Sportster seat was, at one time, 9.5 inches. While we really do like our Sportsters, maybe love is too strong of word, I have wondered if we wouldn't have enjoyed a more performance related model of trike. I lo…
  • Not sure what high or low means as to your point of reference, but, the seat height of our Sportsters is 15", the same as the Gran Tourismo. The discontinued Tour ii was 12" and the Tandem Pro is 11". All other TT models have higher seat heights.
  • I would be very interested in a comparison, with specifics, between the Gran Tourismo and the Sportster. My wife and I each have 2016 Sortsters (x30), purchased in July 2016. We absolutely love our Sportsters, but, would be interested in the diffe…
  • With those periscopes, just think of the additional riding opportunities. On a hot summer day just find a lake and ride in three feet of water with just your head and mirrors above water. What an awesome cool down. :-)
  • This is a very interesting thread. All valid points of view, particularly when placed alongside each ones perspective. I agree that the more research one can put in prior to purchase, lessens the possibility of "buyers remorse." I would also agre…
  • On what trail is the photo that you posted on Nov 14th? We live in Michigan and get around to quite a few of the Michigan trails, but, am always looking for new adventures and/or recommendations.
  • Does your basement have heat vents and return air vents as a part of the HVAC System for proper air circulation throughout the basement. That along with a built in dehumidifier on the furnace will do wonders for preventing dampness. Dampness in a …
  • This past summer we installed the TT Fenders, front and rear, on our Sportsters. To date we have been very pleased with both their appearance and utility. During the winter months we bring our trikes in and down to our gym in the basement. They…
  • My wife and I each have Sportsters (x30), and while we really enjoy them we have been considering adding a Tandem Pro, with Independent Pedal System, to the stable. A couple months ago, we went to TT headquarters in Grand Rapids where they had a Ta…
  • I stretch, reaching for the recline button on the recliner before taking nap. The problem with that is that the button is on the left side of the recliner, so, it is only my left arm that is getting the exercise. I tried laying on my belly once so…
  • We did sit under a large thick pine tree for about fifteen minutes. Surprisingly, it provided very good cover. But, after fifteen minutes with the sky looking like it was going to continue for a lengthy period, my wife suggested we strike out and …
  • I wondered if that was the trail to which you referenced, knowing that it is an 18 mile trail. We love that trail, have done it several times this summer. Thankfully, not once in a 30 mph wind. Me thinks, I have added a fourth item to research b…
  • The first time we rode the Leelanau Trail, we headed south from Sutton's Bay, not realizing that we were on a fair incline and also had a fair tailwind. We rode outbound for about six mile and then turned back to discover that the tailwind had help…
  • I have the same question regarding the Sportster. My wife and I each purchased Sportsters in July of 2016, the x30 model. At the time the model choices were x24, x30, and SL (the SL was and still is 30 speeds). Now, there is the x16, x20, and SL…
  • While there are many riders who do camp, and their experiences are great, we choose to stay in a local hotel, drive to a different trailhead/parking facility along the chosen trail each day, ride out and then back to our parked vehicle. We then exp…
  • Last year when we (wife and I) ordered our two Sportsters through Spin Bike shop in Lansing, MI, we were told that it would be approximately three weeks before delivery. Three weeks later, they arrived and we took delivery a few days later followin…
